The Scotch-Brite™ Bristle Disc is designed to last longer than metal or other abrasive discs. Our Bristle discs work well on aluminum, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and other metals. With normal use, the flexible bristles remain firmly in place to achieve the desired finish with light pressure. These discs do not contain wire filaments, which is a safety improvement. These 3M™ discs include a ceramic aluminum oxide blend, a mineral designed through a process to enhance grain strength and hardness, offering superior performance. The ceramic aluminum oxide blend is designed to fracture frequently, outperforming aluminum oxide abrasives in both cutting power and longevity. Ceramic abrasives are designed to cut fast and withstand applications with intense heat and stress, making them perfect for moderate to heavy material removal tasks, as well as finishing applications. Scotch-Brite abrasives are unique surface conditioning products that incorporate abrasives into a non-woven fiber matrix. The combination of abrasives and non-woven material creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results throughout the product’s life. The open mesh material generates less heat and is resistant to loading, preserving the high cutting performance of the abrasive minerals by reducing fiber clogging.

The Scotch-Brite™ Bristle Disc is composed of ceramic abrasive grain and molded, flexible bristles that offer greater surface contact than wire brushes and maintain their abrasive properties throughout the disc’s life. Our Bristle discs allow for the removal of paint, stains, adhesives, weld burns, corrosion, heavy oxides, and surface contaminants from large areas.
