The 987C 3M™ Cubitron™ II fiber disc offers a higher cut rate, longer life, and more durability than other fiber and grinding discs. Our discs use 3M PSG grain combined with rigid fiber backing for greater productivity in medium to demanding load tasks.

Use the 987C 3M™ Cubitron™ II fiber disc to achieve extraordinarily high cut rates with less pressure, allowing operators to complete demanding tasks with less fatigue. Our heavy-duty discs are ideal for weld removal, beveling, grinding, and blending. The disc features a grinding aid that makes it an excellent product for all types of metals. It helps keep the disc cool when working on stainless steel and heat-sensitive metals, such as nickel and titanium alloys, reducing discoloration and oxidation of metals, as well as the risk of heat-induced stress cracks. This means that the performance of our discs in terms of durability and cutting surpasses that of competing products. They contain 3M PSG grain that forms triangular tips that, unlike traditional abrasives, cut the metal cleanly instead of gouging or plowing it. These tips continuously self-sharpen as they fracture, providing an extremely fast cut. Our discs feature a rigid backing made of vulcanized fiber that resists wear and is suitable for demanding grinding applications. They are ideal for removing mill scale, abrupt depressions, and imperfections.
